Gamma Proxima is an acoustic instrumental duo from Turku, Finland, consisting of members Sami Ruohonen and Antti Sorsa. The band was formed in 2005 with the idea of playing minimalistic acoustic guitar music. However, it has slowly evolved into a more complex and even slightly progressive style of music. Being very ordinary, it's still very different from anything else, using only two acoustic guitars and some synth.
"Home Beyond Nowhere" is the band's first full-length studio album recorded in 2012-2013. It was supposed to be a one-evening session but then proved to require four visits. In addition to the guitars and synth, there's also ambient drumming to be heard. The band's earlier releases were Soil (demo, 2011) and Long Road (EP, 2010).
